weekend highlights

• Watching Superbad on Friday night, which was funny despite the fact that I was in a crappy mood because of work that day. 
• Going into Des Moines early to run some errands but going way too early and having over two hours to kill…
• Finding a coffee mug that’s perfect for my mom and getting it on sale for only $2.99…then wrapping it with a mini bottle of Bailey’s so it’s now an Irish Coffee Mug.
• Not touching a school book or law school application because dammit…this was my weekend off.
• Eating a Ohana Steakhouse and getting Cy, the owner, as our chef.
• Using real chopsticks with the best of them–not the cheater kind.
• Soaking for almost two hours in our in-room jacuzzi. Ohmygod. I was so relaxed.
• Having to get up at 3:30 in the morning to tell some drunk rednecks to STFU at the hotel. Really, who stands in the hallway at 3:30 in the morning for a lovely chat about pizza?
• Getting up in the morning and soaking in the jacuzzi again. *grin*
• Cooking a big steak dinner with my hubby on Sunday.
• Wrapping most of the gifts (the rest should arrive via DHL tomorrow!) but not personally using an inch of wrapping paper. I love gift bags and boxes.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It was nice to relax and do what we wanted for a change. And now we’re gearing up for the whirlwind that is Christmastime… We’ll be traversing the state, weather permitting, for the four-day weekend. Woo-hoo!
